This winter, the ski-lift management company (STBMA) launches a redevelopment programme for beginners, at the summit of Mont-Arbois in Saint-Gervais.
1.5 million euros are being invested to create a brand new, varied and progressive ski area dedicated to novice skiers. This new facility is easily accessible via the Bettex-Mont d'Arbois gondola which carries skiers and snowboarders to 1.840 m altitude.
Innovations on Mont D'Arbois
The new novice ski area will be equipped with 2 innovative ski lifts !
The present drag lift (TS du Col) willbe replaced by a faster and safer system. A little further up slope, a covered magic carpet will be installed. A constant concern to enhance the natural environment has led the STBMA to innovate its landscaping. The magic carpet will be semi-buried in the mountainside. This method of installation, the first of its kind, will significantly reduce the visual impact of this new lift. The lift itself will provide access to a new novice ski area with a constant and very gentle 9% gradient.
